Dating and Content of two Tombs in Daphni, Odos Olgas 53, Athens
On 13-14 May 1981 there were excavated in Daphni, Odos Olgas 53, two tombs, of which the first contained the skeleton of a woman of about 40 years and four Lekythoi, which can be dated to 430/20 BC; the second tomb contained the skeleton of a man of about 20 years and many miscellaneous objects: astragaloi, a saw, a chisel, a writing case with stylus and inkpot, wooden leaves of polyptycha and fragments of a papyrus scroll, and finally parts of three musical instruments: the soundbox of a lyre, one tube of an aulos with mouthpiece and fragments of a spindle-harp, which can be dated to 430/410 B.C. The findings are preserved in the Archaeological Museum in Piraeus, they are unpublished.
